Het gebruik van accu's, en met name de afgifte van de spanning/stroom is veelal afhankelijk van het gebruik van een goede lader. Wanneer een accu goed geladen word zal deze meer, en langer, maximaal belast kunnen worden, en niet onbelangrijk, over een lange periode. Accu's met een verschillende capaciteit, (uitgedrukt in veelal mili ampère), behoeven ook een andere manier van laden. Tegenwoordig worden veelal Nickel Metaal Hybride accu's, (afgekort Ni-MH), gebruikt. Deze hebben het voordeel géén geheugen effect te hebben, wat bij Nickel Cadnium, (afgekort Ni-Cd), wel het geval is. Deze verschillende type accu's behoeven daarom een andere behandeling van laden, en dit is belangrijk bij aanschaf van een lader. Dus een NI-Cd moet geladen worden met een cyclus die speciaal voor dit accu type is ontworpen, en dit geld uiteraard ook voor de Ni-Mh, LiPo en loodaccu's! Hoe een accu geladen moet worden is makkelijk te berekenen, als vuistregel is de capaciteit van de accu ook de laadstroom. Dus een 1000 miliampère accu moet ook 1000 miliampère, (dus 1 Ampère), geladen worden. Dit geld dus voor de grotere cellen, de laadstroom voor penlites kun je beter delen door 10. Dus bijvoorbeeld de zender, (8 penlites), van 2500 miliampère per stuk, kun je beter laden met 250 miliampère, (tenzij anders is aangegeven op de cel!). Wanneer je géén afleesbaar display op de lader hebt, blijft het altijd min of meer gokken, aangezien die laders meestal een tijdschakelaar hebben, of gewoon door blijven laden zolang de accu aan de lader hangt. Belangrijk is dus dat je kunt zien wat er gaande is, wanneer je de laad- en ontlaad gegevens kunt zien, weet je ook meteen wat er in de accu zit, de status ervan en of er één, of meerdere cellen kapot zijn. Zo blijf je bespaard van een hoop ellende van storingen e.d. De meeste 2.4 gig systemen zijn erg gevoelig voor slechte, of slecht geladen accus, en werken niet of slecht, (o.a. bereik problemen).

The use of batteries, and very important, the supply of enough voltage/current is mostly depending on the use of a good charger. When a battery has a good charge cyclus, then the quality and performance of the battery will be longer, and steady over a long period of time. Batteries with a different capacity, (expressed in mili ampère), need a different charging proces. These days mostly Nickel Metal Hybrid batteries are used, (shortened NiMh). This type of battery  has no memory effect, unlike Nickel Cadnium, (shortened Ni-Cd). This different type of batteries need a different charging cycle, this is important when you want to buy a good charger! Thus a NI-Cd must be loaded with a cycle, that especially is developped for kind of battery type, the same for the Ni-Mh, LiPo and lead batteries!  How a battery must be charged is easy to calculate, is the capacity of the battery is also the charge current. So a 1000 miliampère battery must be charged with 1000 miliampère, (thus 1 Ampère). This methode can be used for bigger cells, penlites however need a different charge current. For instance the transmitter batterie, (mostly 8 penlites), with a capacity of 2500 miliampère, can be charged with 250 miliampère current, (unless otherwise has been indicated on the cell!). When you use a charger with no digital display, then the period of time is always a gamble, since most of that kind of chargers have a timer, and the ones who have not, will charge constantly untill the battery is diconnected! So very important when you want to buy a charger, when you know the state of the battery, there will be less problems. Most 2.4 Gig systems wil not, (or badly), performe when using bad charged, or poor quality, batteries. Out of reach is the most commenly problem, so keep this in mind when buying your next charger.
